Voting & Election Season at West End

Dear Friends,

In this season of choice and democracy, here are three ways our voices matter at West End:

  1. Feeling anxious, nervous, unsettled, or just wanting a quiet place away from the news this week? Starting tonight, join us at 9pm for Prayers for the Soul of our Nation, a nightly 15-minute vigil to settle our souls while we await a clear winner of the 2024 Presidential Election.

  2. While you’re casting your election ballot, don’t forget to take the West End Church Survey! As we grow and build our church together, your voice matters!

  3. Please plan to attend the Annual Meeting immediately following worship on Sunday, November 17. At this meeting, we will vote to affirm/deny our Board’s decision to solely affiliate with the United Church of Christ as our denominational home. This past Sunday, we held a class on denominational participation, and many of you came.  If you would like additional resources, or if you have questions about this vote, please speak to or email a member of the Board or staff as soon as possible.

Whatever happens, remember God is in charge. Whomever is elected, know that God elects you. However the sun sets, know that joy always comes in the morning.

Peace to you,

Will
