Seeing the Signs of Faith
Often when we talk about faith we talk about it as a personal and private matter. It is about our personal spiritual journeys, and faith is something we must discover on our own. The truth is that many of us have trouble discovering faith without the help of others.
This week’s passage (Hebrews 11:29 – 12:2) looks back on those in history who exhibited great faith, providing examples and inspiration about the ways faith can take shape in our lives. We also must remember to acknowledge the signs of faith we see in one another today. We do this when we acknowledge the love and hope we see in others, and when we recognize the grace and forgiveness that we experience in others.
Sometimes we struggle to see these things within ourselves, and we need one another to see and embrace the seeds of faith that are already in us. As you encounter people this week, look for signs of faith that you can acknowledge in them.
