Neighborhood Social Ministry

Service Opportunities at West End Collegiate Church

Since 1981, West End has proudly offered the following two Outreach Programs for our congregation and our neighbors to serve and to be served. Please call the church office at 212-787-1566 if you have any questions about these two programs. We offer a lot of flexibility in our volunteer program.  No experience is required to participate.

A Taste of Heaven

A Taste of Heaven provides hot meals beginning at 4:20 until 6:00 p.m. to our hungry friends and neighbors every Tuesday with no questions asked. (Church begins at 4 PM)
Due to the Coronavirus, we are making sandwiches and passing them out with a bag of nutritious goodies. Tuesdays 4 to 5 PM in front of the church building on 77th Street.

The information about 3 free meals a day for all New Yorkers is here:
Those in need can find a site to pick up food by texting “FOOD” or “COMIDA” to 877-877, or use the site locator here:

All New Yorkers can get three free meals a day at hundreds of sites across the five boroughs starting Friday (4/3) amid the economic fallout of the coronavirus pandemic.  Families and children can pick up the three meals between 7:30 and 11:30 a.m. and adults can pick them up between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at 435 sites.
