Saturday Night at the Movies

West End will present “Saturday Night at the Movies” featuring the non-religious, yet very religious, classic film On the Waterfront.

This film will be shown on the church’s theater-sized screen in the chapel.

On the Waterfront is the story of conscience-stricken ex-boxer, Terry Malloy (Marlon Brando) who stands up to a corrupt union boss (Lee J. Cobb) after unwittingly participating in a fellow longshoreman’s murder. His girlfriend (Eva Marie Saint) and a charismatic priest (Karl Malden) support him in his struggle for justice and labor rights.

Following will be a discussion led by Michael Hajek who was close friends with director Elia Kazan.

Date: Saturday, January 26
