Pub Theology is a mid-week, monthly happening. You are invited to join us on the third Wednesday of each month at 8:00 p.m. in The Dublin House Pub (225 West 79th Street) as we talk about faith, get to know one another, and discover what it means to belong. Bring your questions and bring your prayers as we gather in Christian community over a beer, cocktail, soda, or glass of water. Pub Theology is on HIATUS.
For adults: The Adult Christian Education class is a time to discuss, share, and question those faith traditions we hold in common, as well as explore our individual faith journeys. Classes meet Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. in Room 6.

Messiah: The Meaning
Behind the Music
Led by Rev. Julia Turner
on December 1, 8, 15, 22
For many people, the opening notes of Handel’s Messiah are enough to evoke the Christmas spirit. During Advent, it’s hard to miss, whether we are singing it or hearing it. In this massive choral work, soloists and chorus sing texts taken directly from scripture.
During Advent, we’ll focus on Part 1, which includes prophecies of Isaiah, the gospel of Luke and texts in between. Questions abound: What do the prophets mean by salvation? Who is the prince of peace? Who is this child that is born to us? What connects these scriptures to our faith today?
