Making music with and for our community here at West End Collegiate Church is a central part of our spiritual practice. The West End Octet and Choir of professional and volunteer voices sings at weekly services on Sunday at 11:00 a.m., offering an array of repertoire spanning dozens of cultures, and centuries of music history, from Gregorian chant to Gospel.
In December, the Choir presents a Sunday afternoon Christmas concert with orchestra. Past concerts have included Bach’s Magnificat, Handel’s Messiah, Schubert’s Mass in G, Poulenc’s Gloria, Conrad Susa’s Carols and Lullabies, and a variety of major works.
The choir is open to interested singers who have a working knowledge of music notation. We rehearse on Sundays from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary.
If you are interested in joining the West End Choir or finding out more about music and worship at West End Collegiate Church, please speak to our Director of Music, Cynthia Powell, after the Sunday morning service, or email her at CPowell@westendchurch.org.
